n8n's LinkedIn node creates posts with text and an image or article link. It's a good fit for simple profile posts.
It signs in with your own LinkedIn developer app, with the Share on LinkedIn and Sign In with LinkedIn products added.
Posting as a Company Page needs LinkedIn's Community Management App Review for your app.
Video, documents, polls and scheduling aren't node operations; you'd build them with raw API calls.

Create a ShortSync API key
In ShortSync, connect the account once, then open Settings → API & MCP, click Create API key and pick the workspace. In n8n, add a Header Auth credential with the name Authorization and the value Bearer followed by your key.

Find your LinkedIn connection id
Run an HTTP Request node once with GET on the connections endpoint and copy the id of your LinkedIn connection. It posts as the profile or Company Page you picked when connecting.

Post text only, or upload media first
For a text post, skip the upload: leave out upload_id and the caption is the post. For an image or video, add an HTTP Request node with POST on the uploads URL and a public direct-download link in source_url.

Create the LinkedIn post

Add an HTTP Request node with POST on the posts URL. Map the upload_id, write the post text (up to 3,000 characters) and set visibility in the target. Use publish_mode immediate, scheduled with scheduled_for, or draft.

React when it's live
Start a second workflow with a Webhook node (POST), add its Production URL as a webhook in Settings → API & MCP with post.published and post.failed, and click Send test event. The event carries data.post.url, the post's LinkedIn link.

Put these in platform_options.linkedin on the LinkedIn target.

Good to know

ShortSync posts up to 10 LinkedIn posts a day per workspace by default.
A first comment works on LinkedIn (first_comment in the request).
Polls and documents go on text posts only and can't be combined.
Works the same on n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n. Webhooks need n8n reachable over https.
