Bluesky
Post videos, images, and text to Bluesky directly from ShortSync with custom captions, rich text formatting, and auto first comment.

- Video Duration: Up to 3 minutes (180 seconds)
- Video File Size: Up to 100 MB
- Image File Size: Up to 1 MB
- Supported Formats: MP4 (video), JPEG, PNG, WebP (images)
- Caption: Up to 300 characters

Connecting Your Account
1. Enter Your Bluesky Handle
Your handle is visible on your Bluesky profile (e.g., username.bsky.social). In ShortSync, go to platform connections and click "Connect Bluesky", then enter your full handle.
2. Authorize ShortSync
After entering your handle, you'll be redirected to Bluesky's authorization screen. Sign in and grant ShortSync permission to post on your behalf. Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard.
Available Features
Multi-Content Support
Bluesky supports three content types through ShortSync: video posts (up to 100 MB, 3 minutes), image posts (up to 1 MB), and text-only posts. Select your content type when starting the upload flow.
Caption & Rich Text
Write a caption for your Bluesky post (up to 300 characters). ShortSync automatically detects and formats @mentions, #hashtags, and URLs as clickable rich text facets — just type them naturally in your caption.
Auto First Comment
Add a first comment (reply) that's automatically posted to your Bluesky post right after it goes live. Use it to add context, hashtags, or a call to action without cluttering your main caption. The first comment also supports up to 300 characters.
Per-Platform Captions
Customize your Bluesky caption separately from other platforms. Since Bluesky has a 300-character limit (shorter than most platforms), you can write a concise Bluesky-specific caption while using longer captions for TikTok, Instagram, and others.
Common Issues
Bluesky session expired
Bluesky sessions can expire over time. If your posts fail to publish, try reconnecting your Bluesky account from the platform connections page in your dashboard.
Video exceeds 100 MB limit
Bluesky limits video uploads to 100 MB. If your video exceeds this limit, try compressing it before uploading or use a shorter clip. Videos can be up to 3 minutes long.
Unconfirmed email error
If you see an error about an unconfirmed email, you need to verify your email address in your Bluesky account settings before you can post through ShortSync.
