Box

Bring videos and images from Box into ShortSync and post them everywhere at once. Browse your folders inside ShortSync, pick the files and skip downloading and re-uploading each one.

Connect Box

  1. In ShortSync, go to Settings > Integrations and click the Box tile under Add more. You can also get there from the Upload page: Import, then Add integration.
  2. Sign in with your Box account and click Grant Access to Box. Box describes the access as "read and write" because it only lets apps download files with write access. ShortSync never changes, moves or deletes anything in Box: it lists the folders you open and downloads the files you pick.

If your company manages Box, an admin may need to allow ShortSync before you can connect. The connection belongs to you, not the workspace, so teammates don't see or use it. To stop using it, open the ⋮ menu next to Box and choose Disconnect.

Importing files

  1. On the Upload page, click Import under the drop zone and choose Box (under More sources until you've used it once). Once you have media in the flow, the same option is in the + tile at the end of the list.
  2. Open folders to find your files. Videos (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI) and images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC) show with a preview. PDF, PowerPoint and Word files can be picked on their own to post as a LinkedIn document.
  3. Select the files you want and click Import.

Each file arrives with its name, without the extension, as the caption. Edit it like any caption, or use custom captions for a different text per platform. Images can go out as single posts or together as a carousel. From there the files work like any other upload: schedule them, publish them now, or post them as a bulk upload.

From an AI assistant or the API

With ShortSync connected to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, ask something like "Import the videos in my Box folder Reels and schedule one a day on Instagram". The assistant uses list_import_items and import_items with source box. The REST API has the same steps under Imports. Both use the Box account connected in Settings.

Limits

  • Up to 20 files per import; videos up to 2 GB, images up to 20 MB.
  • Files count toward your uploads and workspace storage like any other upload.

FAQ

Why don't I see some of my files?

The picker shows only files ShortSync can post: videos, images, and PDF, PowerPoint and Word files for LinkedIn documents. Other files are hidden.

Does ShortSync change anything in Box?

No. Box shows the access as read and write, because downloading needs it, but ShortSync only reads the folders you open and downloads the files you pick. Your files stay where they are.

Why do I need to reconnect Box?

Sign-ins expire when you change your password, remove ShortSync's access in Box, or don't use it for a long time. Click Reconnect in Settings > Integrations.
