Google Photos
Bring photos and videos from Google Photos straight into an upload, then post or schedule them to every platform. No downloading to your phone first.
Connect Google Photos
- In ShortSync, go to Settings > Integrations and click Google Photos.
- Pick your Google account and allow ShortSync to see the photos and videos you select.
Import photos and videos
- On the Upload page, open Import and choose Google Photos.
- Click Open Google Photos. Google Photos opens in a new window.
- Pick up to 20 photos and videos and press Done. The window closes and the items come into your upload with a progress bar each.
Add a caption, choose the platforms and post or schedule as usual. Photos come in as image posts or carousel slides; videos as Reels, Shorts, TikToks and the other video formats.
Good to know
- ShortSync only sees the items you pick in Google Photos, never the rest of your library. Google doesn't let apps browse a library any more.
- Photos come in at full size. iPhone photos (HEIC) are converted to JPEG, since social platforms don't take HEIC.
- A video Google is still processing can't be imported yet. Wait a few minutes and pick it again.
- Pop-up blocked? Use the Open Google Photos link in the import window.
- The import uses Google's picker, so it works in the upload flow only, not through the API or AI assistants.
- To disconnect, open the Google Photos row's menu in Settings > Integrations. You can also remove access in your Google Account under Security, Third-party apps.
