Social Media Tool Pricing for Agencies (2026): What 5, 10 and 20 Clients Cost
How Buffer, Hootsuite, Agorapulse, Vista Social, Sendible, Statusbrew and ShortSync charge agencies, and what each costs per client, from each vendor's own pricing page.
Social media tools charge agencies in four different ways: per channel, per user, per profile tier or per client. The sticker price on the pricing page rarely tells you what your roster will cost, so here is how each tool charges and what 5, 10 and 20 clients come to. Prices are from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on November 3, 2026, in USD on monthly billing. ShortSync prices in EUR.
How each tool charges
| Tool | Priced by | Entry point for teams |
|---|---|---|
| Buffer | Per channel | Team: $10 a channel a month, unlimited users |
| Hootsuite | Per user | Standard from $99 a month, 10 social accounts |
| Agorapulse | Per user | Standard $99 a user a month ($79 billed yearly), 10 profiles |
| Vista Social | Per profile tier | Professional $99 a month, 15 profiles and 2 users |
| Sendible | Per workspace tier | Core: 1 workspace, 6 profiles, unlimited users |
| Statusbrew | Per user and profile, or per client | From $69 a month; Agencies from $49 a client |
| ShortSync | Per plan and workspace | Team: €49.99 a month, 10 workspaces |
- -Per channel (Buffer): cheap for a few clients on two or three networks, and it grows with every account you connect. Buffer says channels above 10 cost less but doesn't publish the rate. Source: Buffer pricing.
- -Per user (Hootsuite, Agorapulse): every account manager you add is another seat. Hootsuite Standard starts at $99 a month for 10 social accounts and Professional at $199 with unlimited accounts. Agorapulse Standard is $99 a user a month, or $79 billed yearly, with 10 profiles. Sources: Hootsuite plans, Agorapulse pricing.
- -Per profile tier (Vista Social): Professional is $99 a month for 15 profiles and 2 users, Advanced $199 for 30 profiles and 3 users, Scale $449 for 70 profiles and 4 users. Extra profiles on Scale come in packs of 10. Source: Vista Social pricing.
- -Per workspace tier (Sendible): users are unlimited and plans step up by workspaces and profiles: Core 1 and 6, Plus 3 and 18, Premium 7 and 42, Elite 15 and 90, Enterprise 50 and 300. Annual billing saves 15%. The prices didn't show in the page text when we checked, so see Sendible pricing for the current figures.
- -Per client (Statusbrew): regular plans start at $69 a month for 1 user and 5 profiles; the Agencies plan starts at $49 a month per client. Source: Statusbrew pricing.
- -Per plan and workspace (ShortSync): Creator is €14.99 a month for 1 workspace, Team is €49.99 a month (€39.99 billed yearly) for 10 workspaces with team members and client invites, and each extra workspace is €10 a month (€100 a year). Users and connected accounts don't change the price. See pricing.
What 5, 10 and 20 clients cost
Assume each client has 4 accounts (say Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn) and two people on your team post for them. Monthly billing, list prices:
| Tool | 5 clients (20 accounts) | 10 clients (40 accounts) | 20 clients (80 accounts) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ShortSync Team | €49.99 | €49.99 | €149.99 |
| Buffer Team | $200 | $400 | $800 |
| Vista Social | $199 (Advanced) | $449 (Scale) | $449 + extra profiles |
| Statusbrew Agencies | From $245 | From $490 | From $980 |
- -ShortSync: Team covers 10 clients; 20 clients is Team plus 10 extra workspaces at €10 each. Prices in EUR.
- -Buffer: $10 a channel on Team, before the unpublished discount for channels above 10.
- -Vista Social: 80 profiles is over Scale's 70, and the price of extra profiles isn't published.
- -Statusbrew: $49 a client is the starting price; what each client includes depends on the quote.
What the price buys
Cheaper isn't automatically better for an agency. Some of the per-seat price pays for things a scheduler doesn't do:
- -White-label and client portals. Sendible lists client dashboards for previewing and approving content, and white label as a paid add-on on Elite and Enterprise. ShortSync doesn't offer white-labeling or approval workflows.
- -More networks for the same price. ShortSync posts to 17 platforms on every plan: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Telegram, Mastodon, Discord, Tumblr, Pixelfed, Google Business Profile and Reddit.
- -Client access without passwords. On ShortSync Team you invite a client to their own workspace; they connect accounts through each platform's login and you choose whether they see the library, analytics, upload and scheduling, or the inbox. See client connections.
- -Bulk work. Upload up to 20 files at once, import captions from a CSV, and save your usual posting times so new posts fill the next free slot.
- -Automation. The ShortSync API, MCP server and webhooks are on every plan, so you can post from n8n, Zapier, Make or an AI assistant. See the social media API.
Which pricing model fits your agency
- -A few clients on two or three networks: per-channel pricing is hard to beat. Buffer's Team plan at $10 a channel is $60 a month for 3 clients on 2 networks.
- -Many clients, many networks, a small team: flat workspace pricing wins, because a new client or a new account doesn't raise the bill until you pass 10 workspaces.
- -Clients who expect branded reports and approvals: pay for an agency suite like Sendible or Vista Social, and check what the plan you need actually costs with your user count.
- -Freelancers with two or three clients: ShortSync Creator plus extra workspaces (€14.99 plus €10 a client) costs less than Team until you need team members or client invites.
